The cottages are primarily double occupancy, w/ queen-size beds, or 2 double beds. The seasonal cottages are very quaint & cozy, w/ old fashioned knotty pine board paneling & antique appointments. One apartment has a fireplace. We offer a big Garden Room w/ six-person jacuzzi tub for our visitors, that is very popular after a long day of hiking, biking, sailing, kayaking, etc on the Maine coast. We offer three Bed & Morning Meal suites in a 200-year-old New England Cape. Larger groups or familes may offer to use 2 cottages. The Open Hearth Inn has a lot of different lodging options. There is an Antique shop on premises. The apartments are in high demand, & are often booked well in advance for the full season. All B & B suites offer a living room, bedroom, & full bathroom w/ tasteful antique appointments & include a gourmet morning meal in the Inn's original kitchen w/ huge open hearth fireplace. The motel rooms are very big w/ 2 double-size beds, all w/ microwave, refrigerator, & java pot; they all offer a futon couch, that can be made up to accomodate a big family. The 2 efficiency apartments offer full kitchens & are one-bedroom, fully furnished w/ full baths. A large, fancy & realistic golf putting green is available for our visitors (kick the owner off if he's always there), & kayak tours & instruction are available every day for seeing the gorgeous coast of Maine at sea level.

The Open Hearth Inn is located at the intersection of Route 230 and Route 3, in Trenton, Maine we are 8 miles to the main entrance to Acadia National Park, 10 miles to Bar Harbor, -- Directions -- 45 minutes from Bangor 95, exit 182A, along Route 1A into Ellsworth, continue on Route 3 East toward Bar Harbor, 8 miles from Ellsworth on right. If flying, we are close to the Bar Harbor airport, and will pick you up or make rental car arrangements.
