The Snug Bar opens in the evening to serve visitors in the Lobby & Cafe. For those who want to wrap themselves in the richness of an upscale mountain retreat, Kandahar Lodge is the place. In the winter, Kandahar Lodge has a convenient ski-in location. Winter brings skiing, snowmobiling, ice skating & dog sledding. Cafe Kandahar provides a buffet morning meal & gourmet eating w/ an extensive wine list. Amtrak arrives every day in Whitefish, just 7 miles from Kandahar. The Resort has lodging, eating establishments & a few shops. There is no elevator & pets are not allowed. Whitefish is at the north end of the Flathead Valley that has Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. The area features scenic beauty, fishing, hiking, mountain biking & boating. Guests appreciate the big outside hot tub, steam room, exercise room & massage area. The Lodge has a lovely lobby w/ a big river rock fireplace & is decorated w/ antique furniture & fine art Coffee is available in the Lobby in the morning &, during the ski season, cookies & cider are set out in the afternoon. The 50 rooms of the Lodge are situated in 2 wings on three floors & offer queen beds w/ down comforters, microwaves, small refrigerators & air-conditioning. Whitefish Mountain Resort has over 3000 acres of skiing & receives on average 300 inches of snowfall. In the summer, the Resort provides a lift ride to the Summit, the Walk in the Treetops adventure & 18 holes of disc golf. In the summer, it serves as a base camp to access Glacier Park & other summer recreation in the area. Kandahar Lodge is only 18 miles from the airport. Kandahar features hotel style luxury lodging at the Whitefish Mountain Resort. Northwest, Delta, Alaska/Horizon & United service Glacier Park International Airport. A small conference room is available for meetings of 50 or less. During the ski season the S.N.O.W bus provides a complimentary ride between Whitefish Mountain Resort & Whitefish town.
