The tower was further modified in the 1930s. The centerpiece of Philadelphia's Avenue of the Arts, The hotel is situated at Ten Avenue of the Arts in the landmark Girard trust Company Bank Rotunda & Tower. Originally built as The Girard Trust Company & home to the Girard Bank. McKim, Mead & White, who are in addition known for Boston's Symphony Hall, Columbia University & the Washington Square Arch in New York, designed the building between 1901 & 1904. Actual construction took place between 1905 & 1909. The current design merges past & present w/ elegance & sensitivity & has been completely renovated to suit the needs of today's traveler.
